OTRC: Rihanna sold clothes on streets of Barbados as a kid?

Rihanna's father, a former crack cocaine addict named Ronald Fenty, says he and his daughter used to sell clothes on the side of the street in their native Barbados.

Rihanna, a 22-year-old Grammy-winning R&B and pop star who is known for hits such as "Umbrella" and "Rude Boy," has not commented on Fenty's remarks, made to The Sun, a UK Newspaper.

"She used to sell stuff on the side of the street like I did," he said. "She'd come outside of the store and put up a rack and sell hats and belts and scarves. She would also buy sweets, put them in packages and take them to school to sell to her friends for a profit."

Fenty and the singer's mother, Monica, divorced when Rihanna was a teenager. He said he still sees her but did get into a fight with her two years ago, during her North American tour.

"I got drunk and had an argument with her brother," Fenty said. "There was one night of the tour left in Los Angeles and I wanted to go there because I know a nice lady in L.A., but she made me go home. But families row - it's all fine now. I don't get to see her too often. When she comes to Barbados it's normally just a couple of days and she has so many people to see."

"Robyn has special charisma," he added." She's charming, smart and witty - she's a complete package. They didn't have to do anything to her. She didn't have to get no fake boobs or nothing."

Rihanna recently filmed a music video for her song "S&M," which is featured on her new album, "Loud." The clip shows her sporting large, frizzy, red hair, as seen in a sneak peek picture she posted on her Twitter page, and is set to be released later this year.
