January 24, 2011 12:00:00 AM PST
A cruise ship comes to the aid of three Americans adrift aboard a battered boat in the waters off the Cuban coastline. The dramatic water rescue was captured on home video. A small boat was in distress after taking a beating from fierce winds and waves.

The Carnival cruise ship "Valor" sped to help. Passengers watched from all decks as three men were pulled to safety. The boat's owner, Wes Demott, says it was his home and he'll likely never see it again.

"The clothes we have on are the entirety of our wardrobe," said Demott.

"It was pretty rough that day so we knew pretty much instantly that they were out of place, they weren't supposed to be there," said Carl Ray, who witnessed the rescue.

"It's a miracle that they were saved and we were able to help them out," said another witness.

All three men who were rescued are okay. A cat was also saved from the boat.
