A historic link between Thousand Oaks and Moorpark known as the Norwegian Grade was rededicated Wednesday.

The steep, winding road was recently reopened, with $1.5 million worth of safety improvements.

Wednesday's ceremony included the unveiling of two monuments, honoring the Norwegian settlers who built the original road between 1900 and 1911.

It provided a safer way for farmers to bring their wheat and barley to the Oxnard area and Port Hueneme.
