Statin drug use has increased tenfold from 1988 to 2008, according to a new report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Health officials say almost half of men and just over a third of all women between the ages of 65 to 74 reported taking cholesterol-lowering drugs.
The report also found that less than 20 percent of Americans meet the federal guidelines for moderate to vigorous aerobic activity, which is 150 minutes per week.
Although deaths from /*heart disease*/ have gone down, the number of Americans diagnosed with the disease has gone up.
