Yucaipa police released a sketch of a suspected child predator in hopes someone will recognize him.

Police said a male suspect approached a 12-year-old girl walking to the school bus stop near the intersection of Capri Avene and Beryle Avenue in Mentone at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

The suspect asked repeatedly if the girl wanted a ride, offering her candy if she would get into his truck. The girl said no and continued to walk away. The unknown male then drove away from the location.

The juvenile ran to the bus stop and told her mother of the incident, who then reported it to the Yucaipa Police Station.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his mid 30s, with a shaved head and black mustache, with a small patch of hair below his lower lip. He was wearing a bright orange top with a white undershirt beneath it.

He was last seen driving a late model tan Chevrolet 4-door truck with a black bed liner.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of this suspect was urged to contact the Yucaipa police at (909) 790-3105. Callers wishing to remain anonymous may contact the WeTip Hotline at 800-78-CRIME.
