Offenders to scrub London tunnels before royal wedding

March 14, 2011 12:00:00 AM PDT
Money may be tight for the British government, but that won't keep London from looking tip top for the royal wedding. Officials are getting some free labor from convicted offenders on Monday.

The offenders, convicted of minor offenses, will scrub down the grimy pedestrian tunnels, which will be used by thousands of tourists on April 29 when Prince William and fiancee Kate Middleton say their vows.

Monday's cleanup is part of a program that puts offenders to work to benefit the community.
