OTRC: Kelly Osbourne, face of Madonna's fashion line, is 'girliest tomboy'

Kelly Osbourne says she is the "girliest tomboy" and that her style may have helped her get the job as the new face of Madonna's new Material Girl fashion line.

The 26-year-old singer, actress and co-host has in recent years evolved from a foul-mouthed teenager on her rocker father Ozzy's reality show "The Osbournes" into a fashion icon. She is one of the panelists on the E! series "Fashion Police," critiquing celebrities' fashion choices. Osbourne also has her own fashion label.

She is the face of the Spring 2011 collection of Madonna's Material Girl line, replacing Taylor Momsen. Osbourne was all smiles at the launch of the collection at Macy's at the Beverly Center fashion mall in Los Angeles on Thursday, March 24, 2011.

"I have always described my own personal style and the way that I am, is the girliest tomboy you will ever meet," she told OnTheRedCarpet.com. "I think that fits really well with the brand because you know, they are edgy clothes and you always have that girlie thing like a bow, polka dots or something that, you know, keeps it still very girlie."

Osbourne signed on in January 2011 to be the face of "Material Girl," which was designed by Madonna and her 14-year-old daughter Lourdes, or Lola.

Osbourne said Lourdes approached her at a Jay-Z concert last year.

"This guy came up to me and said, 'Would you like to meet my friend Lola?' And I said 'Sure, no problem.' And then all of a sudden, Lourdes was standing in front of me," Osbourne said. "We talked for a bit and then she wrote a blog about me."

She said that she received a phone call a couple of months before Christmas asking her if she wanted to be the spokesmodel. She accepted and said keeping quiet about the whole thing drove her nuts, but in the end, the information was leaked.

Lola attended all the photoshoots to select the clothes and their pairings for various looks, Osbourne said, adding: "She put it all together. Well, she designs it, you know, with the team. She really does know what she's talking about."

The Material Girl collection features apparel, accessories and footwear. Osbourne says the line is cute and reasonably priced, ranging from $12 to $40. She added that Madonna's style in the 1980s has inspired her own wardrobe over the years .

Osbourne may have done the photoshoots but says she hasn't seen the final photos yet. She said her friends have called and texted her to tell her they're seeing her all over the place.

The Material Girl line is available exclusively at Macy's throughout the United States and Macy's online.
