James Franco takes job w/ 'Colbert Report'

April 6, 2011 12:00:00 AM PDT
James Franco is taking on yet another unlikely role: an employee of "The Colbert Report."

Franco appeared on the Comedy Central show on Tuesday and said he wanted to work for host Stephen Colbert.

One of the actor's many interests is performance art, and he said he considers Colbert a contemporary artist.

"You rule. I want to work with you," Franco told Colbert on the show.

Franco pleaded to work for the show as an art consultant, and Colbert pronounced him hired.

Comedy Central didn't immediately explain how serious Franco's potential involvement with "The Colbert Report" might be.
