Sean Hayes, best known for playing Jack on "Will & Grace" has been cast as Larry in 20th Century Fox's "The Three Stooges" movie, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The Farrelly Brothers will be directing the film, which already has Will Sasso ("$#*! My Dad Says," "MADtv") signed on as Curly. The movie will reportedly be divided into half-hour vignettes featuring the slapstick trio.

There is no word yet on who will be cast as Moe, but Johnny Knoxville and Hank Azaria are among those rumored to be in consideration for the role.

The Farrelly Brothers were originally aligned with MGM and the initial cast was thought to be Sean Penn as Larry, Jim Carrey as Curly and Benicio del Toro as Moe.

"We got everything in place, but we don't have the cast yet," Bobby Farrelly told CNN in February. "But we're looking diligently. There are a lot of good guys out there."

It was also announced on Thursday that Sofia Vergara is in talks to join the cast as the women who lures the brothers into a murder-for-hire scheme, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Hayes has appeared in several movies like "Pieces of April" and "The Cat in the Hat," but this will be the actor's first starring role in a feature. Hayes is also an Executive Producer on TV Land's "Hot in Cleveland."

Filming for "The Three Stooges" is expected to begin in April.
