The Ventura Unified School District will cut five school days in the next year and reduce teachers' pay.

The teachers' union has agreed to the plan, which calls for 10 furlough days in the 2011-2012 school year and a 5-percent pay cut.

Administrators will also take at least 10 furlough days.

California's ongoing budget crisis has created financial problems for the district, which relies on state funding.
