USC student suffers minor respiratory problems in chem lab

A USC student was taken to the hospital for breathing problems after mixing chemicals inside a lab at Watt Way and Exposition Boulevard on campus.

Firefighters said the 28-year-old student was mixing some acids in a chemistry lab in Vivian Hall. She suffered minor respiratory problems and was said to be in good condition.

No other injuries were reported.

Firefighters said the spill did not lead to any evacuations.
