Firefighters make quick work of fire near JPL

PASADENA, Calif.

Firefighters responded to the wildfire near the 4800 block of Oak Grove Drive at 12:33 p.m. Luckily, the blaze was burning away from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, but the flames appeared to be threatening tanks at the top of the hill.

Crews battled the wildfire from the air by helicopter, while others climbed up the steep hillside to fight it on the ground.

In the end, about five acres of brush went up in flames.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
