11 vehicles burglarized in Newport in 1 week

Newport Beach Police are warning the public about a rash of vehicle burglaries over the past week. Eleven vehicles were broken into by force and had property in plain sight stolen.

Newport Beach Police detailed the areas where vehicles were burglarized:

  • 100 Block Gentle Breeze
  • 1100 Block Back Bay Dr.
  • 1200 Block Marian Ln.
  • 20th St / Court Ave.
  • 2600 Block Bunya St.
  • 2900 Block Paper Ln.
  • 300 Block Bayview Cir.
  • 600 Block Of Jasmine
  • 700 Block Marigold Ave.
  • Constellation Dr / Santiago Dr.

Police offered tips to avoid being targeted, using the acronym TLC:

TAKE out valuables: Remove all valuable from plain sight or hide them prior to arriving at your destination.

LOCK your vehicle: Verify your vehicle is securely locked before leaving the area.

CLOSE your windows: An open window or sunroof allows for quick entry into your vehicle by a thief. Always check that they are completely shut before leaving your vehicle.
