Air Force One aborts first attempt before landing safely in Connecticut

NEW LONDON, Conn.

The plane circled the runway before trying again and landing safely. The president was not at risk. White House and /*Federal Aviation Administration*/ officials said that it was a routine procedure because of the poor weather conditions.

Reporters on the airplane said they didn't even know the "go around" was happening.

It was very cloudy in New London, Conn., where /*Obama*/ was scheduled to deliver the commencement address at the United States Coast Guard Academy.
