Air Force One with President Barack Obama aboard made an abort landing on its first attempt into Bradley Field in Connecticut on Wednesday due to poor visibility.

The plane circled the runway before trying again and landing safely. The president was not at risk. White House and Federal Aviation Administration officials said that it was a routine procedure because of the poor weather conditions.

Reporters on the airplane said they didn't even know the "go around" was happening.

It was very cloudy in New London, Conn., where Obama was scheduled to deliver the commencement address at the United States Coast Guard Academy.
