76-year-old Texas man left bound for 2 days during robbery

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas

Police said a pair of robbery suspects broke into the Harris County home of a 76-year-old man on May 3. They bound his arms with duct tape and wrapped him up in a blanket so they could ransack his home, then returned the next day to dispose of the evidence.

The man was trapped for two days. On the third day he managed to roll out of his house, down his 100-foot driveway, then onto the road where a driver stopped to help.

"He reached down inside and he did what he had to do to survive," said Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia. "And he managed to roll himself out the sliding glass door. He managed to get it open and roll 100-yards to the street."

The victim is OK. 27-year-old Erick Rodrigo Carranza and 18-year-old Junior Alexis Velasquez are charged with aggravated robbery and unlawful restraint.
