Schwarzenegger puts acting career on hold

LOS ANGELES

The former California governor asked his talent agency, Creative Artists Agency, to put all of his pending entertainment projects on hold until further notice.

The move was to allow Schwarzenegger to focus on personal matters, according to a statement from his office.

"Governor Schwarzenegger is focusing on personal matters and is not willing to commit to any production schedules or timelines. This includes Cry Macho, The Terminator franchise and other projects under consideration," the statement says. "We will resume discussions when Governor Schwarzenegger decides."

Maria Shriver reportedly hires divorce lawyer

A divorce may be in the works for Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver. Shriver has reportedly hired a divorce attorney.

Shriver, who attended a taping of the Oprah show this week, has not released any new comments about the news that her husband fathered a child with former housekeeper Mildred Patricia Baena more than a decade ago. The child is now 13 and lives in Bakersfield with his mother.

One family law expert says that while it's likely the couple has a pre-nuptial agreement Schwarzenegger has a financial obligation to care for his illegitimate child.

Meantime, the seven-bedroom Pacific Palisades estate where the family lived for 18 years prior and during the time Schwarzenegger and Baena carried on with their secret relationship is now listed for sale by Hilton & Hyland Real Estate for $23.5 million.

Baena's daughter briefly talks to media

Baena's only daughter tried to avoid the media as she emerged from her Van Nuys condo Thursday afternoon.

Jackie Rozo, 27, made only a brief comment.

"My mom is a great woman. She's the most caring person you'll ever know," said Rozo.

It is not clear how much Rozo and other family members knew about Baena's relationship with Schwarzenegger-- if anything at all. Baena worked as Schwarzenegger's housekeeper for 20 years. She retired in January. She has been in hiding since the scandal broke.
