We're giving $7,000 to seven people who told us how they would pay that money forward to a local non-profit organization.
Hundreds of heartfelt videos started pouring in. Many stories pointed to the needs across Southern California.
Along with station personnel, a panel of community leaders was chosen to help review hours of video. The panel includes San Gabriel Red Cross chapter CEO Ben Green, 2009 Jefferson Award winner Rose Sliepka and this year's Jefferson Award winner, Wini Jackson.

The seven Pay It Forward honorees will be featured on Eyewitness News at 4pm, 5 pm and 6 pm, right after Oprah's final three episodes, airing Monday, May 23 through Wednesday, May 25.
