Walnut Park deputy-involved shooting; 2 suspects hurt

LOS ANGELES, Calif.

Deputies say they tried to pull over a speeding car near 76th Street and Alameda Street just before 7 a.m., but the driver sped off and crashed into a fence.

Authorities say a passenger jumped out with a gun when deputies opened fire, peppering the car with bullets and injuring both men.

Alameda Street was closed temporarily to accommodate the investigation. Investigators say the car was stolen.

The condition of the suspects is unknown. Neither deputy was hurt.
