New LAUSD teacher evaluation method allowed to go forward

LOS ANGELES

The program includes using standardized test scores of students to measure effectiveness in the classroom.

The teachers union had sought an injunction against the pilot testing, but the state Public Employment Relations Board has rejected that request.

LAUSD superintendent John Deasy was pleased, saying the ruling "allows us the opportunity to learn from our teachers and each other."

There has been no response from the teachers' union.
