4 hurt as Delta flight lands roughly in Ga.

ATLANTA

A /*Federal Aviation Administration*/ official said Delta Flight 2284 from Pittsburgh either blew at a tire, had a locked-up brake or perhaps both while landing at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport about 4:15 p.m. ET.

Forty-nine passengers were evacuated from the MD-88 aircraft using the plane's rear stairs. The four passengers hurt suffered minor injuries. No one had to go to the hospital.

Smoke and flames could be seen coming from the back of the plane while it was on the runway.

"The pilot was able to control the plane and got it stopped, but then there was a burning smell and the right side of the plane caught fire," said one passenger. "I just thought we needed to get off the plane they kept telling us they were assessing the situation and then the fire broke out and they opened the doors and we all went down the emergency chutes."
