Larry Hagman auctions off hundreds of items

LOS ANGELES

Hagman and his "Dallas" leading lady, Linda Gray, set off on horseback from the Beverly Hilton, riding down Wilshire Boulevard to a party being held in Hagman's honor.

Julien's Auction house is celebrating and promoting the Collection of Larry Hagman, which is being auctioned off Saturday.

If you're interested, you can walk in Hagman's boots or maybe take a seat in his director's chair.

He has more hats up for auction than most women have shoes.

"When people know that you collect hats, they send you hats from all over the world," he said. "I've collected a lot of things in my life - about 60 years of collection - and I don't have any place to store it anymore. And why store something like that? Share it with other people. That's the fun thing."

The late Jim Davis played Jock Ewing on "Dallas." Larry Hagman owns a painting of it, but soon, someone else will.

Hagman is also saying goodbye to some of his "Dallas" memorabilia.

"There were many items that I saw and it brought back these great times together," Gray said. "I've known Larry 33 years."
