Gunman sought in fatal San Bernardino shooting

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.

The /*shooting*/ happened about 10:45 p.m. in the 800 block of North Wilson Street in a neighborhood near the 215 Freeway.

Neighbors said the victim, 25-year-old Victor Moreno, had just arrived at the house from working on his car with his dad and was walking up to the front door when someone opened fire.

At least 10 shots were fired. Moreno was struck in the upper torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several bullets pierced the walls of a home but no one inside was hurt. A friend said Moreno shared the home with his fiancé, his 11-month-old son and another young son. They were not home at the time of the shooting.

No suspects were taken into custody and police say they have few leads. They are trying to determine a motive.

Neighbors described the young father as a friendly family man. Investigators said Moreno was not involved with gangs or drugs.

On Sunday, flowers and candles marked the spot on the front porch where Moreno was shot.
