The baby's parents, whose identities were not revealed, brought the infant to a San Jacinto fire station seeking immediate medical attention for their baby at shortly after 4 a.m., Riverside County sheriff's officials said.
The child had been injured, but no details about his injuries were released.
Paramedics at Station 78 in the 2000 block of Cottonwood Street called deputies and took the child and parents to an area hospital, where the infant died.
The investigation into the child's death was ongoing, and no further details were available at this time.
