His publicist says the 21-year-old "Beautiful Girls" singer is breathing on his own and walked Monday morning for the first time since the crash. His condition has also been upgraded from critical to serious.
Kingston was taken to a Miami hospital after he and a female passenger were injured when their personal watercraft crashed into a bridge off Miami Beach on May 29. Kingston suffered a broken jaw, fractured wrist and water in his lungs.
In an email, the publicist said Kingston thanks his friends, family and fans for their prayers and well wishes.
