ABC reality show 'Expedition Impossible' full of dangerous adventures

LOS ANGELES

In "Expedition Impossible," 13 teams of three race hundreds of miles all across Morocco as part of one big and grueling challenge-filled adventure.

"You won't be able to get through just with muscle or just because you can run," said Executive Producer Mark Burnett. "You need to get through this by the camaraderie of the other people."

The show plays out over several weeks with the winning team taking home $250,000. But winning won't come easy.

"Every day, somebody wants to quit," said Burnett. "They just do. But if anybody quits, that means their entire team is disqualified. Imagine the pressure."

Burnett says there is not only pressure, but danger as well.

"We have a great safety team that I've worked with for 20 years," said Burnett. "It's an incredible vicarious travel experience and I bet you what comes out of this- millions of Americans are going to want to have these kinds of Indiana Jones experiences themselves."

"Expedition Impossible" debuts Thursday June 23 at 9 p.m. PST on ABC7.
