A Ventura man reported his vehicle stolen from the 1100 block of Brunswick Lane in Ventura at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday. The car had been unlocked and the keys were inside.
A Ventura police officer spotted the car at about 1 a.m. Thursday near Arcade Drive and Thompson Boulevard and performed a high-risk stop, according to the Ventura Police Dept.
Ventura resident Austin Johnson, 20, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle. Johnson was also arrested for suspicion of drunken driving. A female passenger was determined to be uninvolved and was released at the scene, according to police.
