Gardena strip club worker's shooting death may not be random

SOUTH LOS ANGELES

Ivan Spencer, 55, of Rolling Hills died early Thursday after being shot near the transition road from the southbound 110 Freeway to the 91 Freeway in Harbor Gateway.

He had just left Starz, a nude strip club in Gardena, where he had worked for about 15 years.

Los Angeles police told The Daily Breeze newspaper that they now think the shooting may have stemmed from a personal dispute, but they didn't give details.

Co-workers described Spencer as a nice man who did not drink, smoke or gamble.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information related to the incident was urged to call police at (877) LAPD-24-7.
