The blaze continues burning near Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
The blaze broke out Saturday afternoon and has scorched 75 acres.
Five helicopters, 165 firefighters and four fixed-wing aircraft are tackling the blaze.
No structures were threatened and no evacuations were ordered.
