The standoff began around 1 a.m. near Palm Avenue and Cypress Street. Officials said a man barricaded himself inside a home along with a 3-year-old girl.
Deputies said the man told negotiators he had a gun. A few hours after the standoff began, he released the girl. She wasn't hurt.
Authorities shot tear gas into the home and the man jumped out a window.
He was taken into custody. The incident remained under investigation.
