Coworker dispute leads to gunfire, 60 closure

INDUSTRY

Authorities said there was a physical altercation, and then one man shot the other several times outside businesses in the 16400 block of Old Valley Boulevard in the City of Industry. Deputies do not know which company the two men work for.

The shooting victim was airlifted to UCI Medical Center in unknown condition just after 7 a.m.

"He appeared to have several gunshot wounds throughout the body," said Dep. Brian Sanford of the L.A. County Sheriff's Department.

The other man drove east on the 60 Freeway until he could no longer drive anymore because of injuries sustained from the fight. His Buick hit the center divider near Diamond Bar Boulevard, and he was transported to a local hospital.

Police said they recovered a gun from inside his car, but the driver has not yet been arrested. Authorities said they are trying to obtain surveillance video from the area to get more information about the incident.

An investigation closed the 60 East for about two hours and backed up traffic for several miles.
