In February 2010, firefighters responded to a call of a brush fire at Wabash Street and Reservoir Road near Interstate 10. While putting it out, they discovered the body.
It took several months to identify the remains of 49-year-old Craig Kubitz of Fontana.
On Tuesday night, police arrested Keith Costella and Michelle Luevano, both 21, on murder charges. Investigators say Costella shot and killed Kubitz in a dispute over $700. They say Luevano then helped Costella set the body on fire.
