2 Lakers rioters sentenced for resisting arrest

LOS ANGELES

Marco Aguilar, 26, and Maximo Ruiz, 24, pleaded no contest to resisting arrest. The two are accused of being part of a mob that surrounded police officers trying to make a vandalism arrest in June 2010 after the Lakers won the NBA championship.

They both received a sentence of three years' probation and, 60 days in jail or 45 days of Caltrans work.

They're also ordered to stay away from Staples Center during their probation.

Sixteen other people have been convicted of charges in connection with the same incident.
