Boxer-clad Signal Hill intruder sneaks into child's bed

SIGNAL HILL, Calif.

The incident occurred at about 2 a.m. Sunday. The girl's parents said they heard strange noises coming from their kids' bunk beds. The sounds prompted the parents to get out of bed and to check on their children.

The father of the 10-year-old girl wanted to keep his identity and address private. He said the intruder, identified by police as 24-year-old Sergio Osuna of Whittier, broke a screen, reached through the front door lock and opened it to get inside.

Osuna then allegedly stripped down to his boxers and crawled into the lower bunk bed with the 10-year-old girl inside. The girl's 15-year-old brother was asleep on the top bunk.

The father said when he and his wife came out of their bedroom to check on their kids, he said he saw Osuna in bed with his daughter. He said he yanked him out, kicked him in the face several times and detained him at his home with the help of a neighbor until police arrived.

He said he feared for his daughter's life and wanted to protect her from harm.

Osuna was taken into custody with bail set at $50,000. He faces two misdemeanor counts, one for trespassing and one for damaging prison property while in custody.

Osuna's arriagnment was continued until next month.
