Brush fire breaks out near East LA fire deptartment

A brush fire broke out in East Los Angeles near county fire department headquarters around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Authorities said three water-dropping helicopters and about 200 firefighters were assigned to the blaze near Eastern Avenue and Sheriff Road.

Authorities said that most of the shrubs were burning itself out. Winds were approximately 5 mph and the fire was 20 percent contained. No evacuations have been ordered.
