People have been packing places like Santa Monica since the holiday weekend kicked off.
Officials estimate there were more than a million people on Los Angeles County Beaches Saturday and about the same number Sunday.
Beach officials said there are some things to keep in mind when you're heading to the beach.
"We just want people when they come down to the beach, enjoy themselves and take a lot of consideration for people," said Mickey Gallagher of Los Angeles County Lifeguard Operations. "We encourage people when they come down to hydrate - alcohol and the beach don't mix."
They also say to be careful of things such as uneven sand and stingrays.
