Authorities are asking for the public's help finding a sexual assault suspect in Santa Monica.

The attacked happened on July 4 between 4 p.m. and 4:20 p.m. Police say a woman was getting out of her car in a carport near Wilshire Boulevard and Euclid Avenue when a man moved between her and the car door and started groping her.

The woman was able to get away and get to her apartment without further incident.

The suspect was described as white or light-skinned, 5 feet, 9 inches tall and about 150 pounds. He has a tattoo of a woman's face on the left side of his chest and more tattoos on his right bicep and the right side of his abdomen.

He was wearing a white baseball cap turned backwards, and had no shirt on and only blue jeans.

The suspect fled in a white, sports model Toyota or Honda.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Santa Monica Police Department at (310) 458-8495.
