A former city administrator of Vernon pleaded guilty to a conflict of interest charge Friday.

Prosecutors say Donal O'Callaghan hired a company run by his wife to do work for the city of Vernon, violating conflict of interest laws.

O'Callaghan resigned last October just before he was indicted. He was sentenced to 200 hours of community service and one year summary probation.
