Beatles' 1st US concert photos fetch $360K

NEW YORK

Eighteen-year-old Mike Mitchell was up front at the Washington, D.C. concert in 1964 when the Fab Four took the Washington Coliseum stage - two days after their debut on "The Ed Sullivan Show."

One of his most sought-after shots is a backlit picture of the Beatles, which fetched more than $68,000 at a Christie's auction. Its pre-sale estimate was $2,000 to $3,000.

In sum, Mitchell's collection sold for $361,938.
