California's median age is climbing, but the population is still one of the youngest in the nation.

The U.S. Census Bureau has put out some numbers from the 2010 Census. The numbers show Californian's median age is 35.2 years.

That's two years older than the previous census conducted in 2000.

The national average age is 37.2.

The average household in California contains 2.9 people.

The report says 56 percent of Californians own their home, while 44 percent rent.
