John Dancler and another officer with the L.A. Department of Transportation came under investigation three months ago after the pornographic video surfaced on the internet. One scene showed an actress performing lewd acts in a city car.
The city's civil service commission says Dancler had been dismissed for misconduct and indecent acts reflecting on the department.
Dancler has appealed and a hearing is scheduled next week.
