Beachum was booked into the Ventura County Sheriff's East Valley Jail at 1 a.m.
Deputies retrieved Beachum at about 7:45 a.m., according to the /*Ventura County Sheriff's Department*/, in order to release him from custody. Beachum was found not breathing and unresponsive. Deputies administered emergency aid at the scene.
Fire and medical personnel responded to the scene but were also unable to resuscitate Beachum. He was pronounced dead at the jail.
Beachum had earlier been served breakfast and had been visually monitored during routine checks. Beachum had been alone in his cell.
The Ventura County Medical Examiner was investigating the cause of death. No foul play was suspected, according to the sheriff's department.
