Risk of anti-US violence up after Osama bin Laden's death

July 27, 2011 12:00:00 AM PDT
There's a global travel warning for Americans. The State Department says the death of Osama bin Laden has raised the risk of anti-American violence around the world.

The agency says al Qaeda and other groups are planning terrorist attacks against U.S. interests in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

It cites no specific plans, but says Americans abroad should consider the potential for attacks on transportation systems and tourist infrastructure.
