Lady Gaga serves as guest host on 'The View'

NEW YORK

The women of "The View" discussed the recent death of singer /*Amy Winehouse*/. The 27-year-old soul diva, who had struggled with drug and alcohol addiction, was found dead of unknown causes at her London home on July 23.

"I'm so devastated and so sad," /*Lady Gaga*/ said the morning talk show. "I really couldn't speak for like 48 hours straight. I was in such shock."

She said although she herself used to do hard drugs, she quit after finding out how much it disappointed her father.

"Honestly, it was the best thing that ever happened, I never went back," said Lady Gaga. "There's a way to be recreational and be young and rebellious and have a good time, and not hurt yourself."

However, Lady Gaga did admit she still smokes marijuana, referring to it as being part of the "green club."
