Sketches released in LA Fashion District rape case

August 2, 2011 12:53:13 AM PDT
LAPD detectives released sketches of two men they say sexually assaulted a woman walking to work in downtown L.A.'s Fashion District.

Authorities said a man with long hair grabbed the 18-year-old victim in a bear hug as she walked near Olympic Boulevard and Main Street on July 16.

He dragged her kicking and screaming to a driveway and sexually assaulted her.

A second man acted as a lookout. He has a tattoo that covered most of his right cheek, but the victim was unable to make out what the tattoo was.

Police say the woman continued to fight the suspect as he held her face down on the ground with arms behind her back. She was able to eventually break free and punch the suspect, who fled with the second suspect.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call LAPD detectives at (213) 972-1235.
