Two arson suspects are in custody in connection with a fire in northeastern San Diego County last month that burned through 22 square miles.

The so-called Eagle fire, which began July 21, did not destroy any homes. It cost in excess of $15 million to put out and left 18 firefighters with heat exhaustion, cuts, sprains, abrasions and other minor injuries.

Several thousand ground and airborne personnel spent 10 days battling the fire.

The two men under arrest are being held without bail pending arraignment next week.
