More than 1,000 people attended the "I Love College Athletes Party" Friday night at the Proud Bird restaurant near Aviation Boulevard and West 111th Street.
Police said the man was shot in the abdomen after a fight broke out. Paramedics rushed him to UCLA Medical Center where he was listed in serious, but stable condition.
There was no information immediately available about the beaten man.
Both victims are expected to be OK.
