Study: More genes play role in intelligence

LOS ANGELES

A study out on Tuesday concludes that 1,000 or more genes may actually play a role in intelligence. Scientists once thought only a half-dozen genes had an impact.

The findings add to evidence that even the most powerful genes only have a weak influence on overall intelligence.

Researchers say understanding the genetics of intelligence could help them get a better handle on diseases such as /*Alzheimer's*/.
