10-year-old blind cat named Daredevil needs a home

JURUPA VALLEY, Calif.

Her owner had passed away of natural causes and she has no one else to look after her. The 10-year-old cat was nicknamed Daredevil by employees because she's blind, just like the comic book hero.

They say her new home needs to be a special one.

"This cat, even though it's now been with us for a couple weeks, it just attaches itself to whoever's nearby. It's just a very loving, very affectionate cat," said Riverside County Animal Services spokesman John Welsh.

Daredevil is now available at the Western Riverside County/City Animal Shelter in Jurupa Valley, located at 6851 Van Buren Blvd. Her ID number is A-891880.

Applications for the cat will be reviewed by senior staff members at the shelter. Her adoption fee is only $5 as the department is running its "Five-Dollar Fuzz Ball" special cat adoption promotion through Oct. 31.
