Parking meters program adjusts fees based on demand

According to the Los Angeles Times, the /*Los Angeles City Council*/ has approved a pilot program called ExpressPark.

It will use sensors and other technology to measure demand at thousands of sidewalk meters and spaces in public parking facilities.

The paper says officials will then adjust the cost of meters based on demand at various times throughout the day and on how long motorists stay in each space.
