Caroline Gonzalez, 11, was named "mayor for the day" Tuesday. Her first major act in office was temporarily renaming part of a street after the teen heartthrob.
"I just really like Justin Bieber, and I thought it'd be cool if we had a street in our town named after him," said Gonzalez.
Gonzalez got the mayor gig because she won a contest aimed at getting young people interested in municipal government.
City officials tried to reach Bieber to invite him to the ceremony but had no luck.
The sign for "Justin Bieber Way" cost only $20.
